Lip Sucking Habit Treated With Lip Bumper For A Ten Year Old Girl: A Case Report
Oral habits such as lip sucking has deleterious effects on teeth and adjoining oral tissue. These habits not only affects oral structures, also affects the normal physical, emotional and social activities of the child. Approximately 15 to 25 % of the malocclusions are due to this kind of habits. Lip bumper is a functional device fabricated to neutralize the centripetal force that are produced by extra oral and tongue muscles. In this case report, a 11 year old girl child was treated with a fixed lip bumper along with lip exercises.
